On Sunday Lucas was alive with the buzz of good tunes and a crowd enjoying what was the second installment of Summer Vibes. After the inaugural Summer Vibes in December was a complete washout thanks to Ballarat’s sometimes surprising weather we were thrilled to have a balmy Summer evening free from the threat of rain.
Around 400 people attended over the 4 hours of the event and throughout that time the younger generations had the kids zone totally bustling and we would like to send a shout-out to Eureka Gymnastics who laid out an impressive circuit for the kids, Lil' Monsters Face Painting, Wonder Woman (aka Aimee Carroll) and Ballarat Golf Club for the use of their popular blow up dart board.
The Lucas Community Representative Group carved out a space for the kids to colour and add their creations to a Lucas Community Garden display that was really loved by the kids, it was great to collaborate with this clever group of Lucas locals and we thank them for their involvement.
Thanks also to the brilliant artists that played throughout the event. We are lucky to have so much talent right here in Ballarat. Thanks to Young Paul (DJ PLMH), Candi Wade, Pink Moon and Anna Oliphant Wright.
And the wonderful food truck vendors who are seriously the nicest bunch of people we thank you for coming along, Bean Me Up Mobile Espresso, The Hippie Whippy, Boost Juice, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and East India Trading Co.
